auto forum at JEC

For the first time ever, JEC organized a composites design forum with statements from raw material suppliers/moulders as well as case histories from OEMs. This was done in a serious but relaxed, non-academic atmosphere. The presentations were followed by a fruitful discussion, and an informal get-together, with cocktail.

Three of the five speakers were members of the European Alliance for SMC (DSM, OC and Menzolit-Fibron).

Dick McKechnie, OC, opened up the forum by giving an overview on composites in automotive applications.

Fons Harbers, DSM Composite Resins, gave an overview on composite solutions of yesterday, today and tomorrow. Why use SMC? Drivers for using SMC. More info - please read a pdf file of his paper. pdf file
