Process reliable production and the SMC process chain - AVK-TV 2002 Conference

Karlheinz Hoersting, Director R&D finished parts at Menzolit-Fibron, addressed the audience at the 5th International AVK-TV Conference (Baden-Baden 17-18 September 2002) with a paper about the implementation of SPC and visualisation techniques in the SMC process chain. The monitoring and tracing of key figures during the process chain enables the measurability from the raw material to the finished product, for each individual part. Corrections of the process can be carried out quickly. Variations of particular parameters in the SMC process can be reduced. Consequence: less scrap, better quality ...more

“...SMC compounds no longer seen as speciality material limited to niche applications” said Fons Harbers, New Business Development Manager Automotive at DSM Structural Resins, when he presented his paper at IBEC, 7-11 July 2002, on behalf of the European Alliance for SMC.
